Soundstream X5-12 – 12" SPL Competition Subwoofer (3,500W RMS, Dual 1 Ohm)
When Soundstream asked its fans what they wanted next, the answer was crystal clear: "Build a subwoofer for SPL." Enter the Soundstream X5-12, a purpose-built, limited-production 12-inch competition subwoofer designed for unmatched bass output, high-efficiency thermal management, and precision tuning flexibility.
This sub is not just loud—it’s engineered for power, control, and durability in extreme conditions. Whether you’re building a competition-level SPL system or simply want the loudest, cleanest daily setup on your block, the X5-12 is the subwoofer that delivers.
Built for Bass Heads by Bass Heads
The X5 Series was created with direct input from Team Soundstream and seasoned competitors. The X5-12 results from pushing beyond the boundaries of traditional subwoofer engineering. It’s loaded with elite-level components that support extreme wattage, clean output, and long-term reliability under pressure.
With a 3,500W RMS power handling, 4-inch dual 1-ohm voice coils, and beefy triple-stacked magnets, the X5-12 is tuned for deep, controlled, low-frequency output at high volume levels. A combination of a non-pressed pulp cone reinforced with fiberglass, a polyether foam surround, and a die-cast aluminum basket ensures that this subwoofer moves a lot of air without sacrificing sound quality or mechanical durability.

High Power Meets High Precision
The Soundstream X5-12 is far from a generic 12-inch subwoofer. Every component was selected to support high SPL performance, thermal stability, and tuning flexibility. Its massive magnet structure and 4-inch voice coils make it ideal for systems wired at 1 ohm—or even lower if your amplifier supports it.
This subwoofer effortlessly pairs with high-output monoblock amplifiers, thrives in both ported and sealed enclosures, and remains responsive and stable even under extreme load.
If you're planning to wire this dual 1-ohm DVC subwoofer for a low-impedance configuration, be sure your amplifier can handle the load. Here’s the official subwoofer wiring diagram to help you choose the best configuration for your system.
Pair with Tarantula XP for Maximum Performance
The Tarantula XP High Output Amplifier Series perfectly matches the X5-12. These amps are specifically engineered to drive subwoofers like the X5 with clean, stable, and high-wattage output.
Running the X5-12 with a properly matched amplifier ensures louder bass, better efficiency, less heat, and a longer lifespan for your entire system.
