The hands-free profile enables you to dial and receive calls, display call logs, and access your phone book directly from the head unit. It also allows you to control audio playback with the audio remote, and Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) lets you stream audio wirelessly to the unit.

For additional media options, the Soundstream DVD drives allow for the playback of traditional DVD movies and MP4 and Xvid/Divx video files from DVD-R discs. For CD-only products, the VM-622HB supports traditional CDs as well as MP3 and WMA audio files from CD-R discs.

All Soundstream multimedia source units feature a steering wheel remote control receiver. Some units include a dedicated single-wire connection for 3rd-party interfacing modules, while most have a typical 3-wire system that allows for manual programming of the SWC receiver directly to the vehicle without a 3rd-party interface.
