Acoustic engineers
want 3 things out of a woofer...
High SPL low frequency response
and small air requirements. No
woofer can be optimized for all
3, so some sacrifices always have
to be made if a woofer has a very
specific design goal.
Many vehicles
do not have tons of airspace available
for a big, bulky enclosure. Some
vehicles, like crew-cab trucks,
have no space for a subwoofer.
Until now... The STEALTH-13 is
now the shallowest woofer on the
market! Coming in at a mere 2"
of depth, they can be placed behind
rear crew-cab truck seats, under
many front seats, or even in a
figgin' door with some custom
fabrication! While other "shallow
mount" subwoofers are available,
they typicaly require traditional
airspace. The STEALTH-13 is 13.25"
in diameter and boats a huge 5"
coil with reversed motor. And
not only does it play well in
1/2 cubic foot (typical for most
8"-10" woofers), but
it reproduces lower frequency
response than most 12" woofers
in much larger enclosures

were willing to sacrifice a couple
of dB of volume to bring you a
truly phenomenal, application
specific subwoofer. No more whining
about not having a subwoofer available
that will fit in virtually every

Available
in Fall 2009, Soundstream will
offer the Stealth-13 woofer installed
in a pre-engineered enclosure.
Stealth-13BX was designed with
the truck owner in mind. Its shallow
depth, only 5” at the deepest
point, makes it an ideal fit behind
the seat of a standard cab, or
the rear seats of a full size
truck. It is also beneficial as
a space saver in the trunk of
a sedan, or cargo area of an SUV.
All that is needed to bring-on-the-thump
is a small 2-channel amplifier
that, when bridged with a 4 ohm
load, generates 200 watts. This
slim-fit design has a low-end
frequency response of 20-500Hz,
definitely covering the range
of any bass notes from your favorite
track.
For those of you who feel spicy,
the Stealth-13 is still available
separately for custom enclosure
applications. |
